Welcome 2020-2021

Welcome to Mark Twain Elementary School, Home of the Badgers!

Welcome Badgers Families to a new school year!

It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you back to another great school year.  I hope that your summer has been filled with fun family activities during this pandemic crisis. How quickly summer concludes, and our thoughts turn to preparing for the start of school.  This is always one of my favorite times of the year!  I love the excitement of beginning each new school year and eagerly await welcoming our students and hearing their great summer stories.  I am thrilled to be part of a team comprised of teachers, staff, parents, and students who want to achieve great things! Our faculty, staff and I are looking forward to a new school year and are working hard to see that your child’s learning experience at Mark Twain is a successful and happy one.

Your partnership and support are key elements to ensuring that we can maximize each student’s educational and personal development during this time.  To that end, we encourage a positive relationship based on the mutual goal of providing the best learning experience possible for all students.  Our talented faculty brings a diverse set of approaches to instruction to address a variety of student learning styles.

All of us at Mark Twain Elementary School are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever even with our Distance Learning.  This year is going to be amazing and yet challenging as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections.  As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents-are excited to be here!  This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

My is door is always open and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

Mark Twain Union Elementary School District Mission Statement:

Each child is unique, valuable, and gifted in many ways and can achieve full potential in social, academic, and physical development given proper amounts of encouragement, support, learning experience and belief in self.

As a learning community, we recognize that parents and family environment are both the primary educators and our partners.

Therefore, we believe that all students will succeed.
