Welcome Badgers Families to a new school year! August 4, 2021
It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you back to another great school year. I hope that your summer has been filled with fun family activities! How quickly summer concludes, and our thoughts turn to preparing for the start of school. This is always one of my favorite times of the year! I love the excitement of beginning each new school year and eagerly await welcoming our students and hearing their great summer stories. I am thrilled to be part of a team comprised of teachers, staff, parents, and students who want to achieve great things! Our faculty, staff and I are looking forward to a new school year and are working hard to see that your child’s learning experience at Mark Twain Elementary School is a successful and happy one.
Your partnership and support are key elements to ensuring that we can maximize each student’s educational and personal development during this time. To that end, we encourage a positive relationship based on the mutual goal of providing the best learning experience possible for all students. Our talented faculty brings a diverse set of approaches to instruction to address a variety of student learning styles.
I like to give a special welcome to our new employees on campus this year:

Amanda Fouts 7th Grade English Teacher
Mishal-Ann Conly RSP Teacher
Sharon Mejia SDC Teacher Grade 3-5

The 1st day of the school year is Wednesday, August 18th. School will start at 8:10 A.M. The Transitional Kindergarten minutes will be reviewed by the school board on August 12th and an auto-dialer will go out on August 13th if there are changes.
All of us at Mark Twain Elementary School are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. This year is going to be amazing and yet challenging as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents-are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.
My is door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
Sincerely,
Gary Pogue
