Principal's Message

  • Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the staff at Mark Twain Elementary, we would like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, children need support from both home and school. We also know that a strong partnership with you will make a significant difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that your children:

     ·         Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready to learn

    ·         Completes all homework assignments given by teachers

    ·         Reads daily to develop and improve literacy skills

    ·         Shares school experiences with you so you are aware of your child’s school life

    ·         Informs you if they need additional support in any subject or area

    ·         Knows that you expect them to succeed in school

Throughout the year Mark Twain will provide many opportunities for parents to volunteer and contribute to the school’s program and its operation. The school will also provide opportunities for parents to collaborate with each other, the administration, staff members, and community organizations through our Parents Meetings. Please consider attending those meetings where school safety, current academic programs, Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), and community resources are just some of the topics being discussed. In addition, the school will be communicating with you via phone messages, email, and parent newsletter regarding events and meetings taking place at Mark Twain.

The Mark Twain staff feel very privileged to have you and your child be part of our school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you on August 21, 2019.
